Siena takes part in Remembrance Day National Roll Call (YNN story)
Students and staff at Siena College take part in a nationwide event in honor of Veterans Day.
“The Remembrance Day National Roll Call” is a way to honor all of those who served in the military, both past and present. The names of more than 6,000 men and women who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan were read aloud.
One school official said it’s important, especially on Veterans Day, to remember the sacrifices made, and thats it’s especially important on college campuses.
Campus Programs and Student Activities Assoc. Dir. Jen Fraley said, “We enjoy freedoms that many others do not and the young people here at Siena really value that and understand the gravity of what those sacrifices are.”
178 campuses across the country participated in Remembrance Day National Roll Call.
